A magnetic improvised explosive device (IED) against the Kapisa CID Chief’s vehicle was detonated in Parwan-e-Se in PD 4 Kabul early Saturday injuring the official along with three others.
Kabul police confirmed the incident and said four people including Kapisa’s CID Chief were wounded.
According to police, the CID chief was on his way to the eastern parts of Afghanistan when the incident occurred.
Damage from the blast was not only sustained to the vehicle but also to shops in the nearby area.
Meanwhile in a separate incident, a magnetic IED was detonated against the vehicle of Haji Ghalib, the Bati Kot district governor from Nangarhar.
The blast took place along the Kabul-Jalalabad highway. The driver of the vehicle was killed while Ghalib and a bodyguard were wounded.
According to Nangarhar provincial governor’s spokesman Attaullah Khogyani the blast took place on Saturday at about 7:30 am.
Khogyani said Ghalib was in a stable condition.
Previously Ghalib worked as the district governor for Achin district of Nangarhar province.
