1 Police Killed, 5 Injured in Separate IED Blasts in Farah

At least one policeman was killed and five others including a civilian were injured in two separate roadside mine blasts Tuesday in western Farah, local official said.

The first blast took place Khak-e-Safid district when a police vehicle struck an Improvised Explosives Device (IED)‎, leaving four policemen and a civilian injured, a spokesman for Provincial Governor, Jawad Afghan said.

The second blast happened in a different area but the same district after another police vehicle was hit by a roadside mine, killing a policeman, he said.

No group including the Taliban has claimed responsibility for the explosions.
