Roughly 10 Taliban rebels were killed in a clash with security forces in Farah province, Ministry of Interior said in a statement on Tuesday.
In addition, seven other insurgents were injured.
The clash took place on Monday evening after a group of Taliban attacked a police outpost in the province.
The security forces also seized a number of weapons and motorbikes from the militants, it added.
No casualty was incurred to security forces in this clash, according to the statement.
