At least 21 people died and 15 others were injured in a traffic accident in Samangan province in northern Afghanistan on Thursday.
“The incident took place at about 5pm Thursday evening in Hazrat Sultan area of the province when a bus collided with a truck,” Samangan police spokesman Abdul Monir Rahimi said, adding that “all the passengers were killed and wounded.”
Women and children are among the victims.
According to provincial government hospital officials, the bodies of 14 passenger killed and 15 wounded have been brought to the hospital.
The bus was traveling from Kabul to Mazar-e-Sharif.
Officials have blamed reckless driving as the reason for the increase in the number of accidents in recent months.
