Three policemen who were recently abducted in northwestern Faryab have been found beheaded, officials said Thursday.
Faryab highway police commander, Hayatullah Surkhabi, said the incident took place Wednesday in Qaisar district.
According to Surkhabi, the policemen were kidnapped by the Taliban insurgents when they were on their way home.
However he said the slain policemen had left their checkpoint with any permission from their commander.
The bodies were found on the road linking Ghormach and Qaisar districts, he continued.
