3 Taliban Insurgents Killed In Truck Blast In Herat


Local officials in Herat province said Saturday that at least three Taliban fighters were killed and two others wounded after their truck – loaded with explosives – blew up while they were on their way to Shindand district.

Provincial governor spokesman Ehsanullah Hayat confirmed this and said three insurgents died and two others were wounded.

Meanwhile, Herat police chief General Abdul Majid Rozi said the insurgents had used the vehicle to transfer the explosives from the bordering area of Shindand to other parts of the district, but while on their way the explosives detonated.

Taliban has not commented in this regard so far.
