At least 49 more insurgents were reportedly killed in recent drone strikes Monday night in eastern Nangarhar – the second in 24 hours.
The strikes were carried out on two separate gathering of the Taliban insurgents in Momand valley in Achin district, a spokesman for the Provincial Governor, Ahmad Zia Abdulzai said.
“The insurgents were targeted while they were gathering to plan attacks in the province,” he said.
No civilian was harmed in the strikes, he added.
This comes a day after three insurgents were killed in a drone strike in the same province.
The foreign troops have reportedly launched a number of strikes in the past month.
The Taliban however have not yet commented on the strikes.
