Afghanistan, India, Iran Finalize Draft For Chabahar Agreement

Officials from Afghanistan, India and Iran on Monday finalized the draft Chabahar Agreement – also known as the International Transport and Transit Corridor Agreement among governments of Afghanistan, India and Iran.

According to a press release sent by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Tuesday, Afghanistan representatives at the meeting included officials from ministries of Foreign Affairs, Commerce and Industries, Transport and Civil Aviation; Afghanistan’s railway department and the Afghan Ambassador to India.

The meeting was held in New Delhi and the Afghan delegation was led by Wahidullah Waisi, the head of economic cooperation department of the Afghan Foreign Ministry.

Chabahar Port is an alternative for Afghan businessmen to import and export goods through the route instead of Karachi and other ports.
