The Afghanistan National Cricket Team won its second match in the T20 Cricket World Cup Qualifier against United Arab Emirate (UAE) by eight wickets on Friday, the biggest victory so far in the race.
Played at Edinburgh, Scotland, the UAE team set a total of 164 runs with its six wickets gone after it won the toss and chose to bat first.
The Afghan team achieved the target in 17th over by losing only its two wickets.
Afghan wicketkeeper Mohammad Shahzad was declared player of the match who played a remarkable innings by scoring 74 runs out of just 43 balls.
He hit 12 boundaries, 5 sixes and 7 fours with an outstanding strike rate of 200.
Afghanistan remains at the top of Group B standings as it won its first match of the qualifier yesterday (Thursday) by defeating Netherlands.
Afghanistan will play its third match of the race on 12 July against Scotland.
