Corp Commander Killed In ANA Helicopter Crash In Badghis

The commander for the Zafar 207 corp, in the eastern zone, died from injuries sustained in an helicopter crash on Tuesday afternoon, the Ministry of Defense (MoD) confirmed.

General Muhayuddin Ghori was killed after the chopper crash-landed at an Afghan National Army (ANA) base in Murichan area in Bala Morghab district in Badghis, MoD said.

The helicopter had been carrying high-ranking officials from Herat and Badghis at the time of the crash.

At least 11 people, including the crew, were on board at the time.

Early reports indicate that at least five people were also injured.
