FARAKHABAR: NATO Concerned Over Rift Between NUG Leaders

NATO’s Resolute Support mission in Afghanistan on Tuesday said it is concerned about the tension between the National Unity Government (NUG) leaders and that the leaders should not let political rifts affect the country’s security.

In an interview with TOLOnews, Brig. Gen. Charles Cleveland, spokesperson for the mission, said the Taliban attacks increased in October and the group is trying to find access to provincial capitals.

“In the month of October there has clearly been an increase in Taliban attacks and what we believe we are seeing right now is that the Taliban are trying to reach strategic goals for 2016 with the takeover of provincial capitals,” he said.
