After the beheading of seven passengers in Zabul, thousands of Kabul residents converged on the streets of the capital in protest over the incident.
Wednesday’s demonstrations was probably the largest in Afghanistan in the past 15 years and drew over 20,000 people – who chanted slogans calling for justice.
Demonstrators marched about eight kilometers, carrying the bodies of the victims, until they reached the Presidential Palace.
At a press conference late afternoon, President Ashraf Ghani promised revenge of the deaths of the passengers who were allegedly killed by Daesh insurgents.
