Four Local Police Killed in Uruzgan Clashes

Four policemen have been killed during a four-day clash between Taliban insurgents and Afghan Local Police members in south-eastern Uruzgan province, local officials said on Saturday.

In addition, six other local policemen were injured.

The clashes took place in Khas district of the province after Taliban insurgents attacked several villages, a spokesman for Uruzgan Police Chief, Dost Mohammad Nayab said.

“The clashes still continue in the district,” he said.

However, the Taliban have not yet commented on the situation.
