Germany Pledges 5bn Afs In Aid To Afghanistan

The German government has approved to provide five billion Afs in aid to Afghanistan for different sectors including rural development, infrastructure, agriculture and roads construction, officials said on Thursday.

The Finance Ministry said the aid will be added to the next year’s budget and will be spent based on needs of provinces.

A number of analysts said government should spend the international community’s aid through a transparent process in order to receive further assistance in the future.

This comes after the international community pledged over $15 billion in aid to Afghanistan for the next five years at the Brussels Summit in October.
