President Ashraf Ghani at BRICS summit in Ufa, Russia, once again linked the regional security and stability to the security and stability of Afghanistan .
Accompanied by a high-level delegation, President Ghani left Kabul on Thursday for a two-day official visit to Russia to attend Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) and BRICS summits.
Ghani maintained at the meeting of BRICS leaders that Afghanistan was a center of cooperation, not a land for competition.
Ghani asked for a regional cooperation to eliminate current threats posed to the regional security.
Meanwhile in a meeting with Tajikistan’s President Emomali Rahmon, Ghani stressed the need for a broader relations with Tajikistan and emphasized to turn the Afghan-Tajik border into a symbol of friendship.
In addition, Ghani also met with the President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev and sought further cooperation between the two countries.
