Government sources said on Thursday President Ashraf Ghani will announce his decision regarding the execution of a number of terrorists in the next few days.
The sources said that the decree will be implemented over a number of terrorists who have been found guilty of organized crimes and national security crimes.
Meanwhile the father of a security force member, Safiullah, killed in the recent attack on the VIP protection unit in Kabul, has called on government to execute those terrorists who are charged for civilian murders.
“All day we searched the hospital looking for our son, but we could not find him,” said Safiullah’s father.
The victim’s father said that the pain of loss has made him very weak and hopeless.
“I only recognized my son’s dead body from his teeth and after that I become blind,” Safiullah’s father added.
Safiullah had three daughters and two sons – all of whom are teenagers. The victim’s father said his children miss him terribly.
“Whenever my father came off duty he used his vehicle’s horn and then we would go out and sit in his car and then come into the house together,” Safiullah’s daughter said.
“My father was always helping us with our studies,” another daughter said.
Fayaz Hashmat one of Safiullah’s nephews said: “Every night Safiullah’s children are crying and calling for their dad.”
Safiullah’s family lives in a remote area of Kabul. They have lost their only breadwinner. They have appealed to the government to find those responsible for their father’s death and hang them.
Last month’s attack on the secret service unit left 64 people dead including 20 civilians and 347 others wounded.
After the bloody incident Ghani promised to execute those terrorists who are sentenced to death.
At the moment nearly 130 are sitting on death row after having been convicted of various crimes.
