Ejazul Haq, 13, from eastern Kunar province, is forced to sing on the streets in a bid to earn a living for his poverty-stricken family.
Haq’s father, who is disabled, is the only bread winner of his family.
He said that poverty has forced him to do this and as a result is not able to go to school.
Poverty and unemployment are serious challenges faced by the people of Afghanistan and the vast majority blame insecurity for their predicament.
They say that in addition to the security problem, a shortage of factories and businesses and capital flight are also behind the problem of widespread unemployment.
Haq meanwhile hopes that peace will come to Afghanistan one day and that all these miseries will end.
