The second match of the Roshan Afghan Premier League (RAPL) tournament played between the teams of Oqaban Hindukosh and Da Abasin Sape ended 1-1 on Friday.
The first goal of the match was scored in the 77th minute by Mohammad Nawaz Zazai of Da Abasin Sape after the first half ended scoreless.
Oqaban Hindukosh nullified the rival team’s possible win in the 91st minute of the match when its striker Mahdi Behzad scored the equalizer goal.
The match was played at the Afghanistan’s Football Federation (AFF) stadium in the presence of about 3,000 fans of both the sides.
“This year, the competition is tough because all the teams have improved. But I can say that my team will make its way to the finals,” said Qeyamuddin Qurbani, manager of Da Abasin Sape F.C.
Meanwhile, the officials of Oqaban Hindukosh expressed optimism to achieve victory in the next matches.
In addition, the residents of Kabul expressed joy and appreciated the organizers of the tournament for providing a national-level football competition.
“We come to this peaceful environment to support our favorite team,” a female spectator said.
The fourth season of the league launched on Thursday in a special ceremony which saw Simorgh Alborz of the North defeated Kabul’s Shaheen Asmayee 3-1 in the opening match.
The next match will be played on Sunday between the De Maiwand Atalan and Toofaan Harirod.
