Scotland To Host Afghanistan In ODI Series

Cricket Scotland on Monday confirmed dates and venues for their series against Afghanistan in July.

The two Associates will contest two One Day International (ODIs) fixtures, which will take place at The Grange in Edinburgh on Monday 4 and Wednesday 6 of July.

According to a statement issued by Cricket Scotland, Afghanistan produced a number of impressive performances at the ICC World T20 earlier this year – which included overcoming Scotland in a tight encounter in Nagpur – as they progressed to the second round of the competition, beating the competitions eventual winners, West Indies.

Scotland Head Coach Grant Bradburn said on the announcement of the ODI’s: “Afghanistan have improved over the past year on the back of exposure to International cricket against full member nations. They fully deserve their current standing as one of the leading Associate nations, and we relish the chance to take them on at the Grange in July.”

He said: “Although we respect them as a quality team, we also know we have the skills to beat them again and we look forward to locking horns with them over the two match ODI series.”
