Taliban Commander, 7 Others Killed in Parwan Drone Strike

At least eight Taliban insurgents including one of their senior commanders were killed in a foreign troops drone strike in northern Parwan province, local officials said on Thursday.

The strike took place in Seyagerd district of the province on Wednesday evening while insurgents had come together, a police commander in Parwan, Mohammad Haroon Mubrez, said.

A number of other insurgents were also injured but there were no exact details, he said.

“The insurgents often gathered in this place to plan insurgency attacks,” he added.

However, he did not provided more details about the strike.

The Taliban have not yet commented.
