Taliban's Key Commander Including 15 Killed in Kunduz Joint Operation

Nearly 15 Taliban rebels including their commander known as Mullah Nasim were killed in a joint military operation carried out by Afghan and foreign troops in Kunduz province, local officials said on Wednesday.

Eight insurgents were injured in the operation, the officials added.

The operation was conducted in Hazrat Sultan area in Kunduz city on Tuesday night where 17 other suspects were arrested, Kunduz Police Chief Mohammad Qasim Jangalbagh said.

“The foreign troops supported the joint operation from the air,” he added.

Jangalbagh did not provide further details about the military operation.
