Rahimullah, a 24-year-old Afghan Public Protection Force (APPF) from Badakhshan served his country for four years before sacrificing his life for his country in a Taliban attack in Kunar province a week ago. The young security force member had spent most of his four years fighting on the frontline and was known to be honest and patriotic.

 Legislators in parliament on Saturday said if government has reservations about the census law in relation to the identity card process it should refer it to the Wolesi Jirga so that the legislative body can consider necessary amendments. Parliament speaker Abdul Rauf Ibrahimi referred to the concerns that exist amongst the legislators about the persistent delay of the roll out of the national electronic identity cards (e-NIC) and said that there was no rational reason to delay the project. He called on government to make a final decision and move forward with the much-awaited project.
